On May 14, 2016, Proliance Orthopedic Associates proudly sponsored the 13th Annual Mobility Outreach International "Steps to Healing" Gala at the Meydenbauer in Bellevue, WA. The event and silent auction raised $414,000, the highest amount ever, for MOI's ongoing programs in Vietnam. 240 people were in attendance and were treated to a theme of the tastes and sounds of Vietnam.
The success of the 2016 event will allow MOI to expand its existing programs and explore the possibilities of providing orthopedic surgery and other medical assistance in new areas. MOI is currently investigating a new site for its clubfoot program and seeking to expand its prosthetics and orthotics program.
POA orthopedic surgeon Dr. Robert G. Veith is proud to serve as President of the Board of Directors of Mobility Outreach International (formerly Prosthetics Outreach Foundation). Dr. Veith's longstanding participation and leadership have taken him to many developing regions, including Vietnam, Bangladesh, Sierra Leone, and Haiti. Dr. Veith and his colleagues work side by side with local doctors to provide surgical services, prosthetic care, and treatment through hands-on teaching and training.
MOI's mission is to reduce health disparities by mobilizing individuals in the most medically underserved areas of the world. MOI envisions a world where everyone is able to be physically mobile and independent.
