POA orthopedic surgeon Dr. William Barrett recently shared his hip and joint replacement expertise with the Japanese Orthopaedic Association. Dr. Barrett was selected to educate surgeons who attended the Japanese Orthopedic Association’s 87th Annual Meeting in Kobe, Japan.
At the Japanese Orthopaedic Association, Dr. Barrett presented information regarding the anterior approach to hip replacement and Depuy Attune knee replacement. He was reunited with several Japanese surgeons who had previously travelled to Valley Medical Center to observe hip and knee replacement surgery in September 2013.
The JOA Annual Meeting was held May 22-25, 2014. Founded in 1926, the association’s mission is to “promote studies of orthopaedics, presentation of study results, and to strengthen contact and cooperation among organizations and individuals specializing in the discipline.” Learn more about JOA here.
