Dr. Robert Veith, one of Proliance Orthopedic Associate's foot and ankle specialists, recently returned from a volunteer trip to Haiti in late March. On behalf of the Mobility Outreach International staff, he visited three prosthetic patients at their homes in Cap Haitien, which is located in northern Haiti. The remarkable patients he met were Schilove, Jean Ariel, and Jean Eriel.
Dr. Veith also attended a meeting with Justinian University Hospital (HUJ) to discuss cooperation with Handicap International and the establishment of a new rehabilitation center. After meeting the HUJ surgical team, Veith toured the facility and assisted one surgery, pictured below. He also attended the Ponseti clubfoot clinic at HUJ.
We are extremely proud that POA physicians, like Dr. Veith, are part of this amazing volunteer effort, providing orthopedic care beyond the greater Seattle area.
